
Sierra Park Water Company Inc.
Sierra Park Water Company, Inc. (SPWC) is an investor-owned utility that serves drinking water to approximately 350 customers in the Sierra Park community near Long Barn, California. The water source is from two active groundwater wells and six storage tanks.The SPWC owns and operates the community water system under a permit from the State Water Quality Resources Control Board to ensure drinking water quality standards are met and under the jurisdiction of the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) as a Small Class D water utility for the regulation of water rates.

Proposed Increase in Water Rates
Notice of Public Hearing for a Rate Increase. On August 27, 2026, the California Public Utilities Commission will hold a public meeting on the proposed rate increase. The public meeting is informal and affords customers the opportunity to ask questions and express their views. SPWC will have representatives there to explain the reasons for the proposed increase. Likewise, there will be a CommissionStaff representative who will conduct the meeting and explain how the staff will analyze the proposed rates and fee increases.
On June 19, 2026, Sierra Park Water Company submitted a request to the California Public Utilities Commission to increase its rates for water service. Advice Letter (No. 22-W) seeks authority from the California Public Utilities Commission to increase water rates by $146,605 or 43.86% in Test Year 2026 and by an additional $146,605 or 30.49% in Escalation Year 2027, over present rates, which have been in effect since August 11, 2022. The last General Rate Case became effective in November 2019 with an increase of $100,284 or 55.24%. The increase is necessary to fund needed infrastructure improvements, water system maintenance, business operations, and to adjust for inflation.
The Commission staff will make a thorough investigation of the utility’s request. Following the investigation, the Commission may grant the utility’s request in whole or in part, or may deny it. It may also order the utility to charge rates different from those shown in the Customer notice.

As a Shareholder in the water company, you have the right to vote in the annual elections, which includes electing the Board of Directors. As a Shareholder, you are also eligible to run for a seat on the Board of Directors. To be eligible to vote at the Annual Shareholders meeting, requests to purchase stock certificates must be received no later than April 15th for that year’s Annual Meeting, which is held on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend.
